WOODWIND & BRASSWIND

EMAIL BLASTS

I had been working at the Woodwind and Brasswind for about 3 months, when the VP of Marketing came back to the "Bat Cave" where I worked with five other graphic designers on catalog production. He asked us, "Does anyone back here know anything about web graphics?" I slowly raised my hand...

Nine months later I had thoroughly impressed both my Creative Director and
the VP of Marketing with what we had accomplished. You will see just a sampling
of these projects to the left. Every week, I was tasked with generating between five and eleven custom email campaigns for five vastly different department heads. In addition, there were banner ads, contest graphics, affiliate marketing, animated banners, etc.to produce as well.

I became known as the “go-to-person” for creating fresh, appealing catalog covers and promotional e-mail blasts. In addition, I received praise from departmental buyers and creative supervisors for “raising-the-creative-bar” by demonstrating a consistent ability to come up with fast, yet creative concepts which resulted in increased sales.

Looking back at this single period in my career, it was, by far, the time when I grew the most as a graphic designer. I suspect that it had much to do with having plenty of other talent around me.

And, I believe that my very best design work is still to come.

“...Susan would be an asset to
any company smart enough to consider her.”

–- Dean Hartke,

my former supervisor and creative director at Woodwind & Brasswind, 2006
